ISRM Photography Guidelines
Following recommendations from the ISRM, photography and the recording of images of any kind is only allowed with the written authorisation of the centre management.

Anyone wishing to take photographs with a camera, mobile phone or use a video camera must register at security for a photo authorisation badge. This is being monitoroed by venue staff.

Ponds Forge International Sports Centre is committed to ensuring the safety of all its customers.

 
ISRM Swimming Guidelines

Following recommendations from the ISRM, Ponds Forge International Sports Centre adhere to the following guidelines.
 
•  Children under the age of 8 years must be accompanied in the water at all times by a responsible person (16 years or older). 
•  Children under the age of 4 years must be accompanied by a responsible person (16 years or older) in the following ratio:
 
- on a two-to-one basis (2 children to 1 responsible person) in the baby pool area only. Both children MUST be wearing armbands.
- on a one-to-one basis in all other areas.
 
•  Children aged between 4 & 7 years must be accompanied by a responsible person (16 years or older) on a maximum two-to-one basis.
 
These guidelines are designed for the safety of children in swimming pools and Ponds Forge is committed to ensuring the safety of all its customers.

Swimming Etiquette

Ponds Forge International Sports Centre houses 3 different swimming pools within the building, the Leisure Pool, the International Competition Pool and the Diving Pool.
 
The Leisure Pool
Consists of an 8m x 25m wave pool with depths ranging from 1m to 1.5m over its 25m length. Surrounding the wave pool is a 90m lazy river ride with a uniform depth of 1m. Finally there are two thrilling 90m flumes that land into a 1m deep splash pool.
Great for families & children
Relatively shallow water (diving is not permitted)
Certain exclusions for features such as flumes apply (e.g. height)
The International Competition Pool
Incorporating our lane swimming programme, which takes place almost all day. Full details of the lane swimming programme are available at reception (this is subject to change due to events taking place). Lane swimming takes place in both 50m and 25m configuration and is normally in a depth of 3m (see reception for further details).
 
The Diving Pool
At 5.8m deep it is home to the Great Britain Diving Squad. Use of the diving boards is only permitted within a structured diving lesson (see reception for details of lessons). Occasionally lane swimming takes place in this area.
 
Customers MUST adhere to the following guidelines.
•  Strong swimmers only within the International Competition Pool & Diving Pool i.e. customers able to swim 100m unaided, without stopping.
•  Listen to the lifeguards. They are there for your safety.
•  Customers under the influence of alcohol or drugs are not permitted to swim.
•  For Health & Safety reasons, ¾ length trousers and cut down jeans are not permitted. Underwear and thongs are not permitted. Recognised swimwear must be worn at all times.
•  Snorkels, flippers, facemasks etc are not permitted in public sessions.
•  Follow the directional signage displayed in lane swimming sessions.
•  Purchase one ticket per swim type.
•  Bad language is not acceptable.
•  Please respect other pool users.
•  Any customers breaching pool rules may be asked to leave.

 
Group Fitness Class Etiquette

• Classes are available to both members and "pay as you go" customers.
• Class tickets are available from main reception, the health club and the kiosk on a first come, first serve basis.
• Valid tickets will be collected on entry to the class.
• Please arrive on time for your class to ensure a safe warm up and an introduction to the instructor are completed.
• Tickets can not be purchased after the class has started. Please inform your instructor of any injuries or medication before commencing any fitness class.
• Please do not leave a class before completing a thorough cool down.
• Due to the number of events taking place at Ponds Forge, alterations to the schedule may occur. Group fitness class alterations are updated regularly. Every effort is made to minimise alterations to the group fitness class timetable.
