Sheffield’s GB divers are in a confident mood ahead of next month’s European Championships after their recent medal haul.
Nick Robinson-Baker, Monique Gladding and Megan Sylvester are in training at their home venue Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, in preparation for the Championships, which are being held in Budapest from 10-15 August.
The city of Sheffield trio, have their sights set on the podium after winning five medals at the championships at Ponds Forge last month.
Nick Robinson-Baker dominated the finals and successfully achieved three gold medals in the men's one metre springboard, three metre springboard and then the three metre synchro alongside partner Chris Mears.
Monique Gladding took bronze in the women’s platform and gained the silver medal alongside Megan Sylvester in the ten metre synchro.
Nikki Smith, City of Sheffield Diving Club Coach said: “All three of our divers did immensely well to achieve medals at this years competition, which reflects all their hard work throughout this year.
“The divers are now focused on the forthcoming European Championships, bringing home medals in their respective categories.
“The divers have been training hard and following their performances at the British Championships they are feeling confident.”
Ponds Forge is soon to host the British Gas ASA National Age Group Championships (50m).
