World bowls star ‘on track’ for glory in lucky city
Reigning engage International Open World Bowls Tournament champion, Greg Harlow, is set to make his rivals green with envy when he arrives in his lucky city.

Harlow, who has won the Sheffield based tournament for the last three years running, is backing the call for people to use public transport when making their way to Ponds Forge International Sports Centre to watch the competition.
Harlow’s unbeaten run in Sheffield extends to an impressive 18 matches. The reigning champion will be arriving at the venue on Monday (October 1) on public transport with his trophy where he will pass on his skills to the Lord Mayor and the Bishop.

‘Super’ Harlow will make his entrance on the Supertram and is hoping spectators of all ages will follow suit.

Harlow said: “Ponds Forge is served by excellent public transport links and I would encourage those coming to watch the drama unfold to make the most of these facilities.

Nigel Oldfield, Chief Executive of the World Bowls Tour said: “The Supertram, bus interchange and train station are all easily accessible from Ponds Forge so everyone has the opportunity to follow in Greg’s footsteps.”

The engage International Open Bowls Tournament will be staged on the World Bowls Tour’s unique portable rink at Ponds Forge for the seventh year. The event will run from November 4 – 11 with live coverage on BBC television.
